The Snow and The Plum (II) By Lu Mei Po: Translation By Red Pine

The plum without the snow isn't very special,
and snow without a poem is simply commonplace,
At sunset when the poem is done then it snows again,
Together with the plum they complete the spring.

Snow Country Weavers By James Welch

A time to tell you: things are well.
Birds went south years ago.
But one returned, a blue-wing teal
wild with news of his mother's ego.
Mention me to friends, Say:
Wolves are starving at my door,
The coldness drives them from their prey,
No meat can be sought from forest floor.
Spiders busy weaving threads
to bandage up the day, and more,
Those webs were filled with words
that tumbled messages into wind.

final Weeks In Winter Semester

college students,
busy with homework, research papers,
Two more weeks to go.
whitewashed walls,
four stories of books,
library science rocks..
red shirt, black hair,
long Jeans, running shoes, young adults,
dress as a cowboy.
Thoughts, words, calls, and works,
each person has a role to play,
fulfill each day, pray!

Soft By Kay Ryan

In harmony with the rule of irony-
which requires that we harbor the enemy
on this side of the barricade-the shell
of the unborn eagle or pelican, which is made
to give protection till the great beaks can harden,
is the first thing to take up poison.
The mineral case is soft and gibbous
as the moon in a lake-an elastic
rubbery, nightmare water that won't break.
Elsewhere, also I see the mockeries of struggle,
a softness over people.

The Novelty Shop By Duane Niatum

More grotesque than a row of laundromats,
A haze of pawn shops,
Novel shopkeepers pun Seattle
like skid row. Outside the entrance
A cigar-store Indian, with the entombed
stare of a museum sculpture,
Draws the tourists from the East
Into the damp shop of seashore ornaments
For manufactured bores. With the forests
Serenity of a shaman, the black eyes
of a shaker, Eagle Runner
Abandons the city of red rain, and dives
Into the sea at the end of the pier.

Daughter, Daughter By Alberta Turner

When you peel an egg, leave the skin.
If you jump rope, drop the loop.
A pound of feathers equals a pound
of axes.
Blackbirds don't make good pies,
Fill a fruit pie twice as full.
Tin coughs, glass gargles, sand swallows.
Steal only what you can wear.
Two nickles don't ring like a dime.
Saints come in pints, quarts, gallons.
Step on a crack, break your mother's back;
Skip one, break your own.
Seeds are round,
Shells listen.

To Montezuma

I weave the time,
I go through the weft
among stars,
I walk across the dark
tunnel of your spines,
I plaint the love
you've shown
into my hair...

Pop songs, dancing steps,
Heartbeats with joyful rhymes,
Music inspires.
Medium size, blue van,
Automatic gears, pure fun,
Honda, affordable.
Project proposals,
Teaching and tutoring goals,
Tests, meetings, no fouls.
Freshman, juniors, so-
phymore, and seniors, four
undergraduate years.
Tuition, vacations,
Air tickets, average scores,
youthful decisions.

God By Andy MC Ilvain

Far across the vastness of space,
God's hand reins the human race...
Through galaxies large and galaxies small,
God's mighty hand rules over all...
In eternity present and eternity past,
He will reign to the very last...

Pears, Asian Pears, and Pearls

Ya Zhou Leigh =Ya Zhou Lee =Ya Chou Lye= Asian Pears

Asian pears are rare,
but they are sold here and there,
Eat one if you care.
As a heart-felt treat,
Asian pears come big and brown,
the germ killing type.
Pears could be oval
shaped, and look pure Jade green,
try some, stay close there.
Pears are not pearls,
we eat pears, admire pearls,
Fine fruits vs Jewels.

Pears =Lee=Leigh =Lye

Pearls = Zhu Bao (in this case, it is Xiang Nian)

Ju'Hua in Red and White

Illusions trick, history
shrouded in uncertainty,
become unattached.
hope shrouded in chaos,
People become confused,
Sadness turns deeper.

let your confidence mingle,

Red, white, yellow, and

The Difference in you and Me shall Not Drown Me or You!

Hyde Park Thursday Poets Rally Week 74 (October 4 -October 10)

Your thinking is different from mine,
The chance for us to cooperate is none,
You perter wild and abnormal interactions
while I marvel at quiet and quality relations.
To stop my fretting,
You've reinforced your belief on me,
You've messed up my faith, my family,
How can freedom be so narrowly defined by you for me.
Please respect my way of being happy,
and steer away from my path to beauty,
Life can be short, no need denying
of our differences, I'm on my own until dying.

The Love My Dad Gives and I Felt...He Rocks!

 The Perfect Poet Award,

Thanks a ton for hyde park poetry,

I wish to honor it and pass it to bupinder21..Happy Tuesday!

Thursday Flash Fiction Week 28: Innocence and Dreams

I put some
icy red watermelon chunks
in mouth, feeling the love
from my Dad and sniffing sweetly
of jewel-weed in memory
of his principles for my brother and me:
Practice your cello daily,
work on some math problems if you can,
Rest your eyes after staying online for a while,
Honor NCHO for their encouragement,
Bring music sheet when heading for OYP,
Drink some water before running ....
My father, he has showed his love
to his kids by lots of words and actions,
He cuts chunks of pears, oranges, apples,
and watermelons on plates for me,
He drives me to Piano lessons,
Cello lessons, and music camps weekly,
He wants me to feel comfortable and hopeful,
Men are of the best when they deeply love their kids,
I love my Dad,
He is cool!
